The Patrol is Back

Beginning on Monday, December 23, 2019, the University District Patrol will return to service.

The weekly patrol schedule for the rest of December and January is:

Starting Monday, December 23, 2019

  • Six days/week, Monday through Saturday.
  • 5 hours/day, 11pm to 4am
  • With an extra hour on December 24th, 25th & 31st, 10pm – 4am

Starting Wednesday, January 8, 2020

  • 4 days/week, Wednesday through Saturday.
  • Six hours/day, 10pm – 4am

The UDP Board of Directors thanks all our subscribers for continuing to support the Patrol during our service suspension. Your subscriptions will be credited (extended) for the 12 weeks the patrol was suspended.

UDP’s debt to Securitas has been paid in full. Particular thanks to our dozens of neighbors who donated from $10 to $2,000 since the suspension on September 30th. The benefits to the security of our neighborhood will be felt (if not appreciated) by every District resident. Thank You All.

After carefully considering our cash on hand, current and anticipated subscription renewals and expenses, the UDP Board settled on this resumption schedule. We are committed to spending no more for patrol hours than we can afford. We will review our financial status monthly and set the upcoming month’s schedule accordingly. We expect to increase our patrol hours in coming months, as subscriptions are paid. The goal remains to return to a full 7 day/week, 8 hours/day schedule. But only when we can pay for it.

Thanks again for your support and please encourage your neighbors to join the Patrol.
